She pointed out that tariffs on about 600 Egyptian exports to Mercosur, which are in category B of the agreement, have been lifted, including agricultural and processed products, building materials, textiles and made-up clothing. Alaa Ezz (pictured above), the secretary-general of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, said the agreement allows his organization to work throughout South America instead of taking a country-by-country approach. “What we want here is not just bilateral cooperation,” he said, adding that he hoped a bilateral revolution would take place.
